An update on DAS Ireland’s acquisition by ARAG
Important Notice to business partners
We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update in relation to the acquisition of DAS Ireland by ARAG Allgemeine.
The response from business partners has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are very pleased to report that the ‘novation’ – the transfer of the business and necessary regulatory approval – is nearing completion.
We’re pleased to report that we’ve made excellent progress and that everything is moving in the right direction. As you can imagine there are lots of different aspects to the transfer and we are making great headway with integration and processes between both parties. There is a common culture between DAS Ireland and ARAG, which is a fantastic start, but some minor adjustments will of course be required when you consider the logistics of migrating IT platforms, Claims, Underwriting, HR and all the other facets of transferring a working operation to a new system.
We are also delighted to advise that we are Brexit ready as we have secured regulatory authorisation from the German regulator BaFin and that our status as an ARAG Allegemine branch is approved. Closer to home, we now have regulatory approval ‘in principal’ from the CBOI and are continuing our engagement with them regarding the placeholder (MGA).
We will continue to engage with the CBOI and will confirm the Initial Transfer Date (ITD) as soon as placeholder approval is received. In the meantime, everything remains the same, with our existing service now being Brexit ready via our approved Third Country Branch status from the regulator.
Thank you as always for your ongoing support and partnership. We are excited about this new chapter and the opportunities it will open up for you and your customers. If you have any questions, please contact your Account Manager or any of the senior team within DAS Ireland who will assist with your queries.
